lace & sailboats

*Following content has nothing to do with the picture!!

They say don't go grocery shopping when  your hungry,
but I say don't let your husband go food shopping alone!!

Sometimes if we're out of egg or milk my sweet husband goes to the super market for me after the kids have gone to bed. I really appreciate that he's willing to go out for me but.....he comes home with a bag full of things that I didn't ask him to buy.
And he's always proud of discovering a new product.
Last week it was a new taco mix.
Tonight it was  Yopa Yogurt  (which was pretty good)
He was pretty proud that he finally found a yogurt that has no cholesterol
and contains a high amount of protein.
But he also came home with a bag of tortilla chips.....
I have the weakest will when it comes to food temptation so yes, I ate tried the yogurt and the chips.....at 10pm (tisk tisk)
Well at least I got some calcium tonight.

This sailboat skirt is probably never going to leave my closet.
It's one of those classic Anthro pieces that I always reach for
summer after summer. I paired it with lace today because
lace too never leaves my closet.

bold hues infinity scarf

It's a gorgeous day today!! I'm just enjoying a lazy morning eating pastries in my sweats. I love "nothing to do"days. I hope your enjoying a beautiful day too!!

I was looking for a vibrant scarf when a SA recommended this one to me.
It's so soft and easily goes well with a lot of different color tones.
I have a little obsession with infinity scarves....or scarves in general.
I like to treat them like a statement necklace, or an extra layer on chilly mornings.

happy busy week

This week must be one of the craziest weeks I've ever had!!
Let's start with the highlight---
My sister in-law gave birth to twins!! A beautiful girl and boy!!

Today I had the honor of helping take the twins to their first doctors appointment.
And it was quite an appointment.
My nephew did #1 while being weighed on the scale and my niece went #2 right before the
doctor came into the room.... nothing unusually for a newborn....but the timing was hilarious!!

My 4 year old daughter came to help today and she fell right in love with her cousins.
She wanted to help out with everything and we were all surprised at how good she was at helping.
I guess my baby girl is not so much a baby anymore!!

I also celebrated my birthday this past week.
I had bought these sandals for myself a month ago for my birthday.
Why a month before?
Because I knew I had to have them but I was afraid they would sell out! (and they did sell out soon after I purchased them)
I hid them under my bed so that I wouldn't be tempted to wear them before my birthday.
But I cheated and ended up wearing them on Mother's Day....4 days before my birthday.
Since then I've been wearing these sandals non stop.
They are so comfy and versatile.

Mikko Sandals

Here's another outfit with the sandals

Friday night my husband took me out on a birthday date. We went to a sushi bar....because if your Japanese you have to eat sushi for any celebration (I'm just kidding, but it's kind of true)
It was the best way to end a busy but fantastic week!!

And talking of celebrations I made these cupcakes for my daughter's class. She's a summer birthday so they celebrated her birthday this month before school is out.....isn't that sweet?

I hope your weekend is filled with "Happy" :)

Thanks for stopping by!!

Happy Mother's Day

Last week I was invited to my daughters pre-school for Mother's Day Tea.
The table was set with beautiful roses which the children picked out from the school garden and keepsake placemats personalized with the children's hand print. My favorite this year was the "how to bake a cake" card. The children were each spontaneously asked by the teacher how to bake a cake. The unscripted (hilarious) answers were written for us to bring home and put in our memory box.

The kids were so excited and proud to serve tea and a plate full of goodies to their mommies and it was just an adorable sight, one which I will always cherish for the rest of my life.

My sweet server of the day!!

At the end of the party the kids sang to us and gave us a necklace that had their tiny fingerprint molded on it. I wanted to cry when I saw the beautiful necklace.

So last night when I was on the computer I heard giggling sounds from my kids room.
Apparently my husband was in the room with them.
A few minutes passed and my daughter came running out of the room
exclaiming "mommy!! you can't come into our room. it's a secret!!"
and then my son comes chasing after her and yells
"shhh!!!don't say anything!!!"
And they both run back to the room giggling.

Motherhood can be a challenging journey but it's the little moments like this that make it
worth every single tantrum. Children are a true blessing and I am just so thankful....for my kids and my husband who help me see that the little things in life are what matters most.

If your a mom I hope that you are spoiled and receive all the attention and love that you deserve this Mother's Day. I've met so many wonderful mommy bloggers and moms threw this blog and I'm always inspired by all of you!!

Happy Mother's Day.

soccer & maxi dresses

This past weekend we went to see a major leagues soccer match.
San Jose Earthquakes vs Montreal Impact.
It was a hot day so I decided to wear a breezy light maxi. I bought the petite sizing because I liked how the length of this maxi looked here. I know that this will be my go to maxi this summer....thank goodness it's machine washable!!

Anyways as we were sitting down a girl walked right behind me wearing the same dress!!
We both smiled and simultaneously said "I love your dress!"
And we meant it :)

Dress: Cobalt Ikat maxi Chemise
Necklace: Anthro (last summer)
Bangles: Anthro (summer of 2011)
Sandals: Anthro by Pilcro (last summer)

Thank you so much for stopping by!!
