Summer in Japan

I wanted to share these pictures I took in Japan this past summer.
I got a chance to wear my late moms Yukata.
(Japanese summer Kimono)
Maybe one day I can pass it on to my daughter too :)

a long time ago

A long long time ago when it was still summer.....

Is it just me or do you guys miss summer already?

Hello Hello!!
It's been a while (again)
I hope your doing well.
I missed you all.
I realize I'm the worst blogger
but I kind of have a good reason for being gone for a while :)
I officially started teaching Pilates last month.
I'm teaching several group classes and teach private lessons
between 2 clubs, so it's been a lot of running around and adjusting.
It was not an easy journey but I learned that if you pour your heart and soul
into something you love and believe in that the goal is never impossible.
A gift which I can pass onto my kids too.
I feel like the real learning starts when you start teaching others.
And I love that there is no end to the learning process.
My Pilates journey has just begun.

Tennis and Pilates?
Yes, it's the perfect match.
I'm working on a Pilates conditioning program for tennis players
now at the club.
It's all very exciting!!

Hi guys!! I just returned from a month long trip to Japan.
A month can go by really fast when your visiting family and friends.
I would say the best part of the trip was my kids attending local schools for 2 weeks.
My son loved school (3rd grade) so much and
was able to make a lot of friends playing soccer during recess.
It was touching to see how quickly kids can adjust and learn to love different cultures.

These photos were taken in Miyagi prefecture which is located
North of Japan. A lot of people are familiar with the location because of
the devastating earthquake and tsunami that hit this shore in 2011.
My mother was born and raised on this beautiful little town surrounded by the ocean.

Mothers Day

I hope all you moms and daughters :) had a wonderful Mothers Day!!
My Mothers Day weekend started off with a Pilates Reformer training.
After a 3 month delay I'm beyond excited that
training has resumed and more than anything I'm happy my mentor is back.
She's an amazing teacher and I am looking forward to learning a whole lot threw out the course.

After my training I came home to a yummy sushi dinner made by my husband.
My kids surprised me with a huge Mothers Day poster (card?)
Just by seeing all the glue and glitter stuck to the floor I could see how hard they worked on it :)
I felt like the luckiest mom.....

I hope that everyone (moms) got to feel very special too!!

Happy be-lated Mom's Day.

And mothers day sushi dinner....

My husband worked at a sushi restaurant when he was in college...just incase your wondering.
Some people think that all Japanese people can make sushi, that it runs in our DNA :)
The answer is no. Unfortunately.
But we can all learn...luckily I have a sushi chef at home so I've been too lazy to
learn but one of these days I'm going to have him teach me.
It's on my "to do" list.
Yes, that list that has about 100 things on it.

Happy Spring

Hello! Hello!
It's been a while since I last posted but I'm still here.
March flew by in a blink of any eye.
We went skiing quite a lot which takes a lot of energy and driving.
(especially with 2 kids chanting "are we there yet" )
We won free lift tickets to Squaw Valley by submitting this photo to a photo contest this past winter.

I never thought we would win so I didn't even realize that we had won until a month after the contest. Luckily we made it in time to Squaw before all the snow melted.
It was amazing! I love Squaw Valley!
My 8 years old boy has really grown into an avid skier.
He will ski all day.
We literally have to peel him off the slopes.
His love and enthusiasm for skiing is undeniable....
so much that next winter we're looking into ski teams.

This evening will be very exciting.
I'm participating in my first flash mob!!
I'll tell you more about it after the mob since it wouldn't be a surprise if
I told everyone in advance :)

Have a great weekend!!
