valentine cake pops

Instead of my usual icing cookies, this year
I made cake pops for Valentines Day.
To be honest I'm not a huge fan of how sweet cake pops can taste.
So instead of the store bought cake mix, I opted to make my own
cake from scratch. It took a little extra time but it was worth it
because I was able to adjust the sweetness.
Also instead of icing I used cream cheese and a little bit of jam.
My kids and husband loved it....mission accomplished :)
Tomorrow my kids will be taking some for their teachers!

Happy Valentines Day everyone!!

neutral moment

I am SO excited for the Olympics.
My family and I are huge Olympic fans.
Every night after dinner we gather around the tv to cheer on the athletes.
On the weekend my husband and I stay up late and have Olympic dates :)
My favorite winter sport being figure skating.
The jumps, the spins, and artistry is just so amazing!!
What is your favorite winter Olympic sport?

About my outfit : I was having a neutral moment when I wore this but I added a
little pink since pink can always brighten up a girls day.

Lil Ponte Dress

 Happy sale Monday!!
I saw a ton of great mark downs this morning but surprisingly
I didn't find anything that I wanted.
My wallet is happy....for today :)
But I did find this dress that I'm wearing today for a steal last week.
When I first saw it on-line I ignored it thinking it would be too clingy.
But when I tried it on I was pleasantly surprised to find it
extremely comfy and wearable.
One of those dresses that you just have to try on.

On a completely different note my body is SO sore
head to toe from pilates reformer class today.
I have 3 classes ahead of me tomorrow so I'll be hitting the sacks early tonight.
I hope everyone has a great week!!

orange and green

My husband dropped his iPhone the other week and shattered his display to pieces.
We had been using our phone for over 4 years so it was about time for
a phone upgrade and contact list clean out.
So the first thing I did when I got my new phone was cleaned out the contact list
and weird apps that I never use.
I guess your cell phone needs an occasional (spring) cleaning too.

say purple

I love volunteering in my daughter and son's classroom.
So I recently added an extra day, which means an extra busy week but oh so worth it!!
Especially seeing how hard the teachers work. I have so much respect for teachers!!
My daughters kindergarten class is the cutest.
The kids greet me with smiles and hugs, and are so enthusiastic to learn.
They are just so adorable.

Another exciting update would be that I started (modern/jazz) dancing again....and I can't tell you how much I missed it. We just finished a lyrical routine to "Say Something" by A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera. To be honest I wasn't a big fan of the song before we started the choreography.
The song sort of made me...well...sleepy.
But I fell in love with it after dancing to it and learning the lyrics and emotions behind it.
Songs can feel so different when you dance to it...

Parallel Stripe Wunder Under

Happy Monday!!
So this is pretty much what my weekday uniform has been looking like.

Lululemon Wunder Under's are like second skin to me.
But I'll be honest,
they can get so too comfortable at times that I forget pants have zippers and a button :)

These Parallel Stripe Wunder Unders are my recent favorite.
(Sadly they are sold out on-line)

Like my regular clothing, I love adding patterns, Stripes, Floral and color to my work out gear.
Your exercise cloth don't have to be solid and boring!!

I found that wearing color and or patterns when you work out can really uplift your
mood and elevate body awareness.
I especially recommend adding a fun pattern or colored crops/leggings.
You become more conscious of how you're articulating your legs, hence building more body awareness and control. And you'll look super cute!!
So pull on some fun crops and start dancing away---

Here are some cute crops that I found on-line

OC Kama Capri by Athleta

I recently started skate boarding with my kids.
It was scary!!! at first and I almost fell on my face,
but now I'm starting to dig it.
The next challenge will be keeping up with them.
*I normally wear a helmet when I ride with them!!

kay cardigan

I can't take the kay cardigan.
It goes with so many items I own and I've
been wearing it with all my outfits for the past few weeks.
I know, it's a plain simple green cardigan
but as they say....simple is best.
