Sakura (Cherry Blossoms) are in bloom here in the Bay Area!!
I adore these Cherry Blossoms....so much that I named my daughters middle name "Sakura"
In Japan Cherry Blossoms are a HUGE deal!! They represent the arrival and beauty of spring.
People have picnics under the Cherry Blossoms and party all day/night......that's how excited they are about Spring!! Winter is pretty harsh in Japan so it's a big sign of relief to see the Cherry Blossoms.

fun fact: In 1912 Japan sent 3020 Cherry Blossom Trees to the US as a gift of friendship...so I guess that means they also represent "friendship"
